Mental Health And Mental Illness: How To Know The Difference

Mental Health And Mental Illness

Hi, there welcome once again to my first article about mental health and mental illness how to know the difference. It can be confusing for some people to figure out the difference between mental health and mental illness. My job here today is to help you know the difference between these two.

what is mental health

Everyone has some form of mental health all of the time. It's just like this, we talk about mental health we're talking about our state of well-being, having good mental health means that you can realize your own abilities, you can cope with everyday stresses, you can work productively, and you can positively contribute to your community.

Just like when getting sick we can all go through episodes of having poor mental health, because most of the stress and psychological impairment, that can be compared to a major depressive episode like when you lose a job, a loved one dies, or a relationship breakdown. That is what mental health mean, when I talk about mental health it’s your stage of well-being.

What is mental illness

But then what's mental illness what is the difference? The very different this is a medically diagnose and results in significant impairment, affecting your ability to logically think, to maintain relationships, and to work.

Mental illness also causes distress, it can cause a feeling that something is really wrong but it's usually for no reason.  it's not because of relationship break up and it's not because you lost your job. It because this function your ability to work and live a normal life, is clearly impaired.

Mental illness includes

  • depression

  •  schizophrenia

  • bipolar

  • eating disorders

There's actually a whole book of mental illness it is called the DSM 5. Mental health can be improved by regular exercise and a good sleeping pattern, but Mental illness only usually improves when there is a medical intervention that is treated by mental health professionals, and management usually requires medication and learning coping strategies to manage everyday life.

Everyone has mental health, but not everyone has a mental illness. You can have bad mental health and not have a mental illness and you can also have good mental health while still having a mental illness.

How do I know that my mental illness wasn't just bad mental health? Because I was doing everything that I know helps with mental health, I was trying to regulate exercise, well as trying to watch my diet, I was trying to get a good sleeping pattern, I was also even writing, reading and drawing.

All these things that usually will help my mental health, just nothing was working and from there I know that something was wrong. I didn't know what and it was really distressing me. I couldn't go to work because I couldn't function and that's how I knew that it was my mental illness, it was a relapse of depression.

In the next upcoming the article, I will share techniques and tools that I've learned to better my mental health, these are for everyone because everyone including you have to learn to look after and manage their mental health.

I'm also not afraid to talk about how my mental illness impacts my life because it does and I want people who have a mental illness to know that you're not alone there are people out there who understand you, and there are people that you can relate to and I am one of them.

Today we learn about mental health and mental illness how to know the difference.  If you enjoyed reading this article please comment and share if you want more like this and remember to check out essential oil recipe blend for anxiety and any common condition.

Coronavirus no Symptoms: The Walking dead

Coronavirus no Symptoms

Their are many people living with covid-19 but showing no symptoms of coronavirus  today, these people are knowing as asymptomatic people. An asymptomatic is people who get tested for coronavirus and found positive, but don't have no symptoms of the virus. The Central for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which has estimates that 25 per-cent of Americans and the United kingdom have coronavirus which may not show or develop no symptoms at all.

Can asymptomatic people spread the coronavirus disease

Asymptomatic people can still be able to spread the covid-19 virus on to others. But because the people with coronavirus show no symptoms, it will make the stopping of coronavirus symptoms spread even more and challenging to control without taking the vaccination. It is very disconcerting to hear that there are essentially walking dead out there, people are walking with the virus and not knowing that they are contagious still with no sign of symptoms.

Slow the spreading of coronavirus

How to slow the spreading by everyone follow the Covid-19 Gov. guidelines even if you show no symptoms asymptomatic, or per-symptomatic people they have the covid-19 but not develop the symptoms yet, their virus levels within the body actually get very high and they can be contagious has well, so it up to everyone to help low the spreading of coronavirus.

There is an entire population of people that can spread the virus, so when a person says, "I feel fine," and they go on a vocation to the beach in Jamaica or travel any part in the world, they could spread the coronavirus to other people, who can then carry back the coronavirus to other country, when they return to their home. That is what more worrying.

How to help?

There have uniform rules across every country to follow and if don't comply you could be charge, well for start you can help by:
  1. Staying at home
  2. Avoid large group
  3. Wash hand frequently
  4. Reduce traveling about
  5. Stay 2 meter apart from each other
  6. Wear face mask covering

Face mask protection
Face mask protection

The other thing to talk about is face masks protection, you know when you cover with a face mask, it's protecting you from somebody else who doesn't wear a face mask. It's so that the droplets from the mouth don't get out when you stand in front of a person when breathing fog, coughing, or sneezing. The purpose of you wearing a face mask is to block the droplets. Which many people get the wrong idea of wearing a face mask.

The whole practice of wearing a face mask when you go outdoor, it's to protect others and yourself, which is now mandatory in the very country, which the Gov. recommended and I think it's fantastic. I think it's a good idea as long as you're not wearing the N. 95 face mask, which will seem like you’re taking the face mask away from the medical workers who need them.

Working from home coronavirus

Covid Update January 2021

The Westminster Government now announced a new national lockdown for England, with all other countries of the UK in a similar situation.

All businesses and worker most follow by the government guidelines. Our operational sites and working practices are Covid-secure and we will continue to issue guidance and reminders as we move into this new lockdown period.

For those who can work from home, you must now do so in line with the Government announcements made January 5 2021. So, unless you are a key worker, directly involved in front line office operations you must not come into the work place.

Your line manager will be able to confirm if you should now work from home but this will largely apply to the same roles as in the first lockdown. If you are working from home but feel you have an essential reason to come into work, this needs to be agreed in advance and arrangements will have to be made via the Health and Safety team. If you believe you have an essential reason to attend work please speak to your line manager in the first instance.

At this time we expect these latest restrictions to remain in place until at least mid February, and as we have throughout 2020, we will continue to follow the advice and guidance issued by the Government and keep you fully updated.

We will also issue reminders on best practice for those working from home. Please look out
for further updates that will follow this week from all health matter.

Who is getting sick?

One of the factor in watching this crisis unfold is just who is getting sick with coronavirus. and why a 7-week-old baby in Connecticut died, and of course many people in their seventies, eighties, and nineties are mostly infected.

Why is this coronavirus symptom seem to touch so many people in so many different ways and ages? Watching the BBC news, there was two mid-age couple who was in the hospital, both had the coronavirus and several days later the wife was on a ventilator and the husband who was in much worse condition than his wife. She did get better before the husband. It is stated that more than 25 percent of people have no serious coronavirus which shows no symptoms.

Everybody's worried they're going to be in that 25 per-cent, and if doctors knew who have coronavirus with no symptoms in the 25 percent, they can also get treated with medicines, and maybe we could figure out why. We'll have a clue how to stop this horrible disease.
